If You Think This Post Is Too Short...

... you may qualify for a diagnosis of ADD. And FYI, tweets, status updates, and blog entries – including this one – do not count as intensive reading. Try a novel once in a while. That'll give your brain plenty of food for thought. Or at the very least, a conversation starter longer than 140 (or 420) characters.

  1. From one blogger to another, I would have to know your preference:

Should internet material be long or short in general?

  2. I think it depends on the topic you're presenting. If you're looking for word count, I keep mine generally within several hundred to a few thousand tops. This piece here I meant to be short because I was being satirical. But most of what I write, even this as I type, would be considered long because I like to articulate my thoughts. My material is written under the assumption that you, the reader, have absolutely no clue what I'm talking about. I'd rather give you the meat and potatoes than to leave you starving on succinct prose. Of course, the content has to be intriguing and cohesive. It's a fine line to tightrope, but it's one I hope I'm improving on, for I am not about to dilute my work just so I can be more marketable to the masses.
